I used to know it really well when I was at school. Now I just keep a periodic table at my desk in case I need to check something. I also have a periodic table mug. My chemistry teacher at school had a periodic table tie! Have you watched the meet the elements video? I like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy0m7jnyv6U

I don’t have a great memory for that. It is a good song though.

I had a friend who studied Chemistry as university and had to learn the whole periodic table including the Lanthanides and Actanides (sp?). That impressed me. I wonder if she remembers it…. I’ll have to ask her. She works for one of the research councils now helping to decide which scientists get money to help with their research.

I’m rubbish at remembering lists of things, so I remember the tune to the song, but not the words! I know all the elements are in there, but they’re not in any sensible order so I’ve no chance of remembering. Does it start… “There’s hydrogen and helium and *something* and selenium…”? See, I’m lost already!
