There have been astronauts up in the space station for 11 years (though not the same ones!), and they have to live as normally as they can while they are up there. They eat space food because it has to be dried down so it doesn’t take up much space, and they sleep and work just like normal people. But they have the problem of dealing with no gravity, so they have some cool technology to get round it (you should see the toilets!) and they have to work out more to keep their bones strong. They also have to do a LOT of science experiments, because there’s so much we want to know!

It’s quite like being on Earth apart from a few key differences, the main one being you’re floating and so is everything else!

So astronauts can’t cook food (ovens don’t work properly), they sleep in bags that keep them strapped to the wall (you can’t lie down) and things like that.

But actually they try and make life as normal as possible. The astronauts still have fun, they have a guitar on the ISS and they play games, listen to music, read. They also tweet about things, if you want to follow them on twitter!

On the moon things are slightly better as there is a bit of gravity. But the moon landings were made in a very small capsule, so they didn’t have much space.

But they did still manage to try and play golf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yNIMtagHck
