• Question: Why are massave cats called lions, tigers ect. but massive dogs are just called 'dogs'?

      We used to think it was because they are different species, and that they couldn’t make babies together, but its a bit more complicated than that.

      Some big dogs are called other things, like wolf, or tasmanian tiger (actually more like a dog than a tiger). If they can be kept as pets, they’re usually just called dogs 🙂

      Because people that name things are a bit silly.
