• Question: Can humans eat poison ivy?

      You could give it a go, it would be very unpleasant though, and might kill you by making your throat swell up! It probably wouldn’t do much if it got down into your stomach as the acid would break it down.

      So I don’t recommend trying it!

      Poison ivy will start to be pretty unpleasant from the moment you touch it, because its sap contains a kind of oil that makes an ugly rash on your skin.

      If you could bear that and still tried to eat it, it would be bad all the way down, and even worse as you chewed it and it released more and more sap. Don’t do it! There’s much more tasty things to be found in the garden!

      I assume you could physically put it in your mouth and swallow it, but I doubt it’d be pleasant – and it might even be poisoness, so I wouldn’t recommend trying.
