I think you have to have enjoyed science at school to think about doing it at university. When I was at school I loved science and art just as much as each other, and it was a really big decision for me when I started my A-levels, because I had to choose one or the other.

I’m glad I chose science because doing it at university has helped me get a job in it, and I can do art in my spare time. If I’d done art as a job, I don’t think I’d have been able to do science in my spare time, because you need training and a lab really.

I’ve always liked science, but at university it was even better because I got to do lots of lab work, which is my favourite bit of science

I actually enjoyed science the least in my second year of Uni. So much I nearly quit!

I’m glad I didn’t though, it got a lot better when I chose to do things i was actually interested in rather than what the University told me to do.

I did enjoy science at school, but I did find it a little bit frustrating and actually my favourite subject was geography at A-level. So when I went to university, I was lucky I chose a course (Natural Sciences) that let me study geology (a lot like physical geography) and physics at the same time. I decided that I couldn’t write essays fast enough in exams (!) so I decided to do physics in my 2nd year: and I also really started enjoying physics too.
