So an after life is a mainly faith/religious thing, but some people have tried to explain it scientifically in the past.

There’s the (incorrect) story that a person’s body loses 21 grams of weight when we die, which some people say could be the soul leaving, but this doesn’t actually happen.

Personally I think that we’re just a bunch of electrical responses going through molecules, but that this doesn’t mean life has no point!

A lot of people live on after death by their achievements. I would be happy if some people remember me for doing something important, or even just something nice, after I die.

I don’t believe in life after death but I can understand why people want to. It’s scary to think about not existing any more. I think the most important thing is to try and leave the world a better place for the generations who come after you.

I’d like to, mostly because I can’t imagine not being here to know how my children are getting on. But if I’m honest I find it difficult to reconcile with science….

I think the people we love live on in our memories.

I think that the idea of an afterlife is mostly a hopeful creation of most religions, as we’ve got no real scientific evidence for it. The best kind of afterlife you can have is living on in the hearts and minds of people you left behind.

But to a lot of people, religion is important to them, and while I don’t believe in it, I don’t want argue with them, because their opinions are important to them. As long as they don’t try to change mine either…
