• Question: Do you have a special rhyme of phnuemonic to remember the order of the planets? If so, what is it? This is mine: My Very Energetic Motorcar Just Said Use No Petrol (If you count Pluto) Did you find it hard to learn the order of the planets when you were younger? From balletshoes1998 From Howell's School Llandaff :) :) :)

I use “My Very Earthly Mother Just Saw Uncle Ned”. I have trouble remembering the order of Uranus and Neptune mostly, so that’s where I use it. When pluto was a planet Uncle Ned could be doing something beginning with “p” – like “playing” or “partying” or something! 😉

I still find it hard to remember them! There are so many lists in science… For planets, I used “My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets”

As a geologist I have to remember the order of geological periods. I use “Camels Often Sit Down Carefully Perhaps Their Joints Creak”

And in biology, I need to remember the order of species. That one’s “King Penguins Can Often Find Good Socks”

I’m afraid I’d just use Google.
