• Question: Do you think earth will ever be sucked up by a black hole?

      Not unless starts coming our way. Even if the sun suddenly turned into a black hole (which it wouldn’t) we wouldn’t get sucked in, as the gravity would be exactly the same.

      In short no. We know of no black holes even remotely close to the Earth, and if you have read the rumours about mini-black holes made in the Large Hadron Collider swallowing the Earth, well I have no concerns about that happening either! 😉

      Nope!

      Our nearest black hole is about 20,000 light years away, and even then it’s not particularly viscous. You’d have plenty of other things to worry about before getting sucked into a black hole!
