Nothing I know of could make the Earth explode.

Even though there are volcanoes erupting on the surface of the Earth, these are only tiny compared to the whole planet, it would take some serious something to make the whole Earth explode! There’s nothing that we know of that can do that, fortunately….

But in about five billion years time, scientists think that the sun will expand to at least twice its size now, and then the Earth will be caught up and burnt to a crisp! But I don’t think humans will be around then, we’ll have probably left for the stars a long time before then!

No, that won’t happen because there is nothing inside it to cause an explosion. Instead, the sun will destroy the Earth slowly as the Sun grows and swallows us up.
