There are lots of things in the sky that could be interpreted as UFOs – weird looking clouds, american spy planes, or remote control airships…. But these have always got a more boring explanation than a real alien spaceship, and there have been no scientific reports of UFO sightings that haven’t been explained away by some ‘boring’ reason.
I’ve never seen an unidentified flying objects, but I once looked up at night and saw a strange green glowing line over the university where I was studying. It was moving slowly through the clouds and my friends and I couldn’t work out where it was coming from because we were in the middle of the city. It lasted for about 5 minutes.
It turned out to be a prototype for a chemistry experiment that was using a powerful laser to study the clouds. The light I could see was like the the light that the experiment could detect, and the chemists could use that detected light to study how the back-scatter was affected by chemicals from cars and factories that change the particles in the clouds, which I think were mainly small water drops and tiny ice crystals.
You could say I first saw an Unidentified Flying Object, but it later turned into an Indentified Chemistry Experiment.
