  Same distance as you I suppose, although I was alive in 1987 when a supernova went of in the Large Magellanic Cloud, which is a dwarf galaxy about 160,000 light years from us. You probably weren’t yet alive then, so maybe I do beat you! 😉

  If we were too close to a supernova, it would kill you almost instantly because of the gamma radiation. (One of the types of radiation that is most dangerous.) In fact, people have worried that a supernova happening too close to Earth might kill everyone on the planet.
