• Question: how old is the youngest person who has been into space?

      Google always has the answer – a link to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronaut which says the youngest person was a German man who was 25 when he flew with the Russians in 1961. The oldest was John Glenn who went up with NASA when he was 77 (in 1998).

      Darn! Even if I went into space tomorrow (and I would if I could!) I still wouldn’t be the youngest. Maybe you can try to be?

      Gosh, only 25 😐

      But did he have to do a lot or was the launch fairly automatic? A lot of Russian ones were controlled from the ground.

      The youngest person on the moon was 36 and a half, the oldest 47. So I’m still in with a chance…anyone offering a lift toward Luna in the next two years?
