We think the Sun will die – but that that process won’t start happening for another 5 billion years. At that point I personally won’t be worrying about it, but any humans who are wouldn’t be able to just hide on Earth from it. The Sun at that time will expand into a red giant, and mostly likely swallow the Earth and all the inner planets. So any humans still around in 5 billion years from now will need to go to another solar system to live.

Like Karen says, the sun will eat the Earth before it dies, so our survival plan needs to be to find somewhere else to live!

Yes! Green chicken and mushroom ones!

Actually I wouldn’t hide out on Earth, but I’d get a spacecraft to take me away from the expanding sun before it consumed and burnt up the earth – even an underground cave wouldn’t be safe then! But pot noodle wouldn’t be the worst food to live on in space for the rest of my life 🙂

If the sun died, I’m not sure I would want a survival plan: what would be the point?

But if I had to, I’d find a nice nuclear reactor to live near that would keep me warm (the Earth would get rather cold), provide lots of lights (no Sun means it is dark) and let me cook food (I would get to the nuclear reactor via a supermarket, and pick up lots of tins of food).
