• Question: in space do your facial expressions look funny, as you float around?

      I think your facial expressions probably look just the same. Astronauts faces do go puffy in space though, as gravity isn’t pulling all their blood to their feet, so some extra goes into the face! Maybe that might make them look funny.

      I think your face looks pretty much normal in space, although your hair does float around, a bit like when you are in the bath! When space ships take off and land you accelerate and decelerate really fast which creates G force. This can make your face look funny and make you feel really sick! Astronauts go through special training on Earth to prepare them for what it will feel like.

      The astronauts hair always looks a bit funny I think – especially if they have long hair. It just stands straight up – no gravity to pull it down…

      Probably! I know in space without gravity your hair all sticks up, so maybe your face will look flabbier because there’s nothing pulling your skin flat against the bone?

      Also did you know you can’t cry properly in space because there’s no gravity to make the tears run down your face so instead they float off horizontally like in some cartoons!
