I set fire to the hair on my arms once in a demonstration, on purpose. Though there wasn’t a point to it.

I broke a thousand pound geiger counter once by poking the end of it. Oops.

My experiments are not normally that exciting 🙁 I have put my hand in a bucket of dry ice for a demonstration though, and that was extremely cold!

when I was an undergrad an experiment I was doing starting producing lots of gas becuase some of the chemicals got wet, the top popped off the flask and it made loads of steamy vapour. it was quite scary! Luckily there were some more experienced scientists in the lab with me at the time who hlped me sort it out.

I’m not sure I’ve done anything very extreme. We were taught how to taste rocks when I studied geology (sandy ones, silty ones, and gritty ones). Right now, I have to be really careful with our experiment on the telescope because the lasers can blind you, so we have to wear special goggles.
