• Question: What is the weirdest fact you know about our galaxy?

      You know, when you think about it. We are pretty weird! The idea that in the huge space of the galaxy, which is mainly empty space, but still has 400 billion stars in it, some carbon and hydrogen atoms came together in the right sort of order over billions of years to make not only bacteria, but earthworms and spiders and fish and dinosaurs and us! And as far as we can see so far, we’re the only ones!

      Watch this video, it makes you realise how tiny and unlikely we are compared to the rest of the universe!

      If you could get a bathtub big enough (you couldn’t) and you could put Saturn in it (you couldn’t), it would float!

      It has a black hole at the centre with a mass millions of times that of our Sun.

      How about that we are on the edge so when we look at the Milky Way, we can look at the whole galaxy at once?
