I like things with lots of taste and seasoning, and that are spicy. But I’ll eat pretty much anything apart form apples (I’m allergic) and tomatoes (they’re evil).
Also, I’m a girl, so chocolate has a special place in my heart.
Chilis have a chemical called capsicin in them, which is what makes them hot. There’s a whole scale to designate chilis, from bell peppers to scotch bonnets!
Like Adam says, it’s the capsicin in chilli that makes them so hot. Capsicin is a pretty amazing chemical, it can be used to treat some skin conditions, it’s showing promise in medical research for destruction of some types of cancer cells and it’s also used in pepper spray – ouch! I once got really sick from eating some really hot chilli sauce – it was not pleasant!
