• Question: Why are Bannans bannana shaped? what advatage does it give them as a spiecies?

      It’s because they actually grow upside down to how you might think!

      They grow out straight from the stem but then try to grow upwards, meaning they eventually come out curved!

      It’s not because they’re designed to be held by our hands, in case you were wondering!

      They are curved for the reason Adam says – and lots of seeds and fruits grow this way. But they are designed to be attractive to animals who might want to eat them, and then easy for them to peel and eat, because the banana plant needs on the animals to disperse its seeds (which are inside the banana flesh) by eating and then pooing them out somewhere else.
